Are you looking for a flexible part-time position on Sundays and Mondays in Kelowna, BC?
We are looking for a lead driver to assist our dispatch and drivers with deliveries throughout the Kelowna area, from Vernon to Penticton and everywhere in between. - Unloading trucks and staging routes every Sunday and Monday at the warehouse. - Assisting drivers with loading routes into their vehicles correctly. - Checking in with the Dispatch Lead to ensure that the manifest is correct and up to date. - Coverage of any uncovered or leftover deliveries. - Other duties as requested/assigned, within reason.
In addition, you will also be asked to deliver routes with support provided by our dispatch team.
This is an Independent Contractor position that requires the use of your own vehicle and your own smartphone with at least a 3G data plan. Compensation is paid every week through direct deposit and delivery shifts are typically 4-6 hours in length.
For this role, we are looking for reliable and consistent availability on: Sundays 8 am - 8 pm Mondays 8 am - 6 pm
Delivering for Fresh Prep is an excellent opportunity to earn approximately $25-$30/hr.*. It’s a great way to get to know your way around the Okanagan Although previous experience is not necessary, we do encourage applicants that have worked with other on-demand delivery companies such as Skipthedishes, Uber Eats, and Amazon to apply.
**Requirements**:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract - A vehicle with valid insurance (larger vehicles preferred for this route) - A smartphone with a data plan - Ability to lift up to 30 lbs - Ability to pass a background check - Must be legally authorized to work in Canada - A positive, friendly attitude
**Knowledge, skills, and abilities**:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment - Pallet/Power Jack certification preferred - Work well under pressure and tight deadlines - Must be able to work under limited supervision - Must be able to drive on the road for 4-6 hours - Ability to work independently
**Job Duties**:
- Organize and load orders in own vehicle - Deliver orders in a timely fashion - Return collected cooler bags and undelivered orders to the warehouse
Pay This role pays $20/hr for warehouse associate work (more if you hold useful certifications). The rate for delivery driving is variable based on speed and volume, but averages around $25 - $30/hr.
