Position OverviewResponsible for all aspects of SaskTel's professional computing environments, from product recommendations to implementation coordination, standards development, and advanced technical support. May provide leadership, coordinate workloads, and partner with vendors to deploy or support technology.
Typical Duties & Responsibilities (Not all inclusive or applicable to all assignments)
- Design, coordinate, and support technical environments for the corporate IT infrastructure, ensuring functionality, cost-effectiveness, and security.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure tools, standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Plan and coordinate hardware, OS, and software upgrades.
- Evaluate, recommend, and oversee new software and hardware implementations using project management disciplines.
- Manage product life cycles, perform complex installations, and troubleshoot failures under pressure.
- Handle Control Office functions for hardware/software issues, ensuring SLA adherence.
- Administer databases, plan and support network, desktop, server, security, development tools, application, systems integration, data centers, and unified communications systems.
Qualifications
- Educational requirements vary; typically a university degree in Computer Science, Electronic Information/Electrical Engineering, or related fields, with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Vendor certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) with 4+ years of experience are also acceptable.
- Demonstrated ability in analysis, design, automation, and resolving complex system problems.
- Excellent communication, initiative, and leadership skills.
- Valid driver's license (if applicable).
