About the Role

Amazon Data Services Canada, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Regional Safety Engineer to lead health and safety initiatives for our cloud operations in Airdrie, Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective health and safety standards, policies, and practices to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, construction, and logistics, to identify and address health and safety concerns.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety best practices and procedures.
  • Analyze data trends to inform health and safety strategies and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4-year college degree in a safety-related field (e.g., occupational health and safety, environmental health and safety).
  • At least 5 years of experience in field safety, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and revising safety processes and procedural documentation.
  • Familiarity with Alberta Provincial Occupational Safety Act and Regulation, as well as Federal safety and health regulatory laws (Canadian Labor Code).
