Machine Operator - Process Line ID-780

The Lactalis Canada facility in Belleville specifically wraps and packages cheese products and our Distribution Centre is located in the industrial park area. These facilities have been in Belleville for a number of years and are better known as Black Diamond Cheese.
Position: Machine Operator / Labourer (Hourly, Unionized)
Shift: Midnights
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform tasks in accordance with established standard operating procedures, Safety, GMP, and HACCP controls. The operator rotates through different functions of machine operating.
- The operator is responsible for monitoring that the product meets all Lactalis quality standards and weights are controlled at all times.
- Complete log sheets and production records.
- Duties include set-up, monitoring and trouble-shooting.
- Employees will perform a variety of tasks as assigned by the supervisor, including but not limited to sanitation of the equipment and area.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary school (OSSD or equivalent)
- Completion of post-secondary education an asset
- Able to safely operate mechanical devices
- Ability to enter data into a computer
- Quick learner with leadership qualities, superior communication and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to quickly identify and take action in a safe manner
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to trouble shoot, perform minor maintenance, and monitor product or material attributes.
- Ability to safely lift up to 40 lbs
- Previous experience in manufacturing, particularly in the food industry, is an asset
- Flexible availability for all shifts
